Travel Cai Be Detail

Cai Be in Tien Giang province is one of the biggest and most famous floating markets in the Mekong Delta. Mingling with the bustling vibe and chaotic atmosphere of the market, your mind seems to soak up the rhythm of brandishing water flow, while your soul seems to be daydreamt by the vastness of the Mekong River.

Coming here, you will see lots of colorful fruit and vegetable gardens, traditional crafts, a French church from 1935 and an impressive traditional house. Due to the development of modern central markets, Cai Be Floating market is getting smaller every year. An awesome motive for photos is the Catholic cathedral in the background of the floating market.

Tourists can take a discovery tour by sampan in lots of small canals in the market area. Or taking a bicycle riding on narrow roads along small side canals to explore the area. Many of the small shady canals, which branch off from the larger river arms, are hard to spot because they are overgrown by lush greenery. On an exploration tour you will often think that you landed in a dead end, but after an overgrown bend it still goes on.

This small town attracts many day trippers from Saigon. Besides a handful of simple homestays some more sophisticated accommodation places slowly emerge.
