We had three great days organized. Everything worked as planned - all the transports - from the hotel lobby to train, market, hotel in Sapa, trek, homestay and back to Hanoi -all were on time and quick which allowed max usage of time. Our guide was excellent, energetic and cheerful. She has very good English. She is from black Hmong and from a village near Sapa. She showed us the in and out of village life. She took us to different routes with fewer tourists and great views of the rice terraces. It was a unique experience and I would definitley recommend choosing Sapa

We stayed overnight in Bac Ha and visited the market at 6am when they were still in the process of setting up. It really was spectacular. They sell everything any anything. We were surrounded by the most amazing colours. Whether it be the costumes of the women, the fruits, vegetables and chilli's or the handicrafts. Not to mention all the animals and meat.

The visit to the Bac Ha Sunday market was one of the highlights of my trip to Vietnam. It was part of a four day tip to the Sapa area. The lady's traditional outfits were beautiful with a wide range colours and patterns. The market sold everything from food and cooked food to fabric and cloths to Water buffalo. Our guide said you could buy a good water buffalo for $2000. This was primarily a market for the locals and you were not harassed by those try to sell you stuff. However, once you showed an interest to buy something, everyone wanted to sell to you. The locals did not especially like having their pictures taken, so you need to be discrete or just offer a token amount to get them to pose.
